Designed by “Disney couple” Dana and Chip Brown, a Walt Disney Imagineer and a Disney Studios Producer, and parents of three, THE RANK GAME is a simple and interactive way for any group to put their phones down and engage in meaningful engagements with people in person.
THE RANK GAME’s gameplay leverages all four of The Toy Association’s Hot Holiday Trends:
- FIDGET FEVER — Many of the hottest toys on the market right now create multisensory experiences, including social-emotional learning (SEL) skill development. THE RANK GAME’s underlying primary game mechanics in fact develop social-emotional learning. Players love THE RANK GAME for the same reason they love social media, because they are fundamentally interested in themselves, however, players can’t win points without looking at the topic cards through other players’ perspectives. This dynamic eases anxiety and fosters understanding and inclusion, building authentic community between the players.
- CATERING TO “KIDULTS” –– This holiday season, consumers and retailers are seeking out products with cross generational appeal to bring the whole family together. THE RANK GAME includes three game modes that create this dynamic: Spotlight mode; Teams of Two mode; and Two Teams mode, which is often played by twenty or more people, pitting generations or genders against one another in fun to prove who knows who the best.

About Chip and Dana Brown
Dana was a Lead Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering for two entirely new-concept parks: Disney’s California Adventure/Paradise Pier and TokyoDisneySeas/Mediterranean Harbor. This role included the responsibility of creating the interactive and magical experiences in-between the rides, in open spaces, restaurants and retail, where consumers spend most of their time. Chip has spent more than 25 years in the media and entertainment industry, including TV, film, internet, live theatre, radio, animation, music and publishing.
